A team of more than 50 volunteers – university students and lecturers, early-career scientists and experienced researchers, engineers from the private sector, and local community representatives- participated in the fieldwork and clean-up on the 6th of November 2022.
Considering the weather conditions – heavy rain and strong wind in a project pilot area, and the density of plastic litter distributions on the Caspian Sea coastal zone near Neftcahala region in Azerbaijan, the teamwork was organised in 10 groups with 4-6 persons in each. Despite the harsh late autumn weather, the team members kept motivated, and the mission was successfully completed.
